Cool man, I just made a new toon as well... I wanted to try out the Celestial power line. FYI, in the event that you were not aware, you can cross train as well. I wanted to make a Sith type of character so I was able to select the powers that I wanted out of the psychic line (cyber blade or some shit) and the line that lets you take laser swords.
Then I just change the color of them all to purple so they kinda match. We are going to play a bit more this weekend as well, getting ready to log in myself and play my new toon.
Yeah the tutorial zone is kinda ghey.

You wont be leveling up your powers until you get out of there. I was confused on that as well and couldn't find the trainers! It is the powerhouse that you want to go to, which looks like a big gear on its side with a portal in the middle. It will be close to where you start when you leave the tut zone and choose an area to do next.
