New L4D2 Campaign Maps

There is a new map installed on the server for us to try.

Everyone needs to download the map to their local machine and install it in order to play on it.

Once you've downloaded the .zip file, extract the .vpk file and double-click it to install (Steam will auto-install the map for you). You will then be able to create and join lobbies that have this custom map as the campaign.

Trying out these campaigns now. I heard Freezer Burn is all laggy at the end. But we'll give it a shot.

This is all currently going on our server. I created a .zip file with all 5 .vpks for you to download, from my webspace(uploading it now). So who knows how long it will take. You will just need to click the .vpks for them to install themselves to your addon folder. Easy. However, you may also need to copy and paste the map files into the map folder. Not sure on that. It will involve going into the L4D2 install folder, finding the folder called maps, and pasting the files into that folder. Now everyone take a deep breath. I will supply another .zip file with those in them if that's the case. Click it, copy, paste. Deep breaths.

This works. I started a lobby, had Darth join, started the game(it hosted itself locally), and everything worked for me. Textures all good.

If you are feeling frisky download the damn files from the website link and install it all now. If not, wait till my shit is done uploading and I'll give you the link for the simpler(I hope) way of getting everyone on board.

First things first. Start the Steam client. Go to the tools tabs and find "L4D2 Add-on support". Download that. After it's downloaded you don't need to do anything else. It will say 100% ready, that's all you need.

All you need to do with this file is double click all 5 files within. Steam will install them for you.


Here are the map files themselves. You will need to COPY AND PASTE(do not drag and drop) them into the correct folder inside the L4D2 install directory.

Open this, copy and paste, important, don't drag and drop, to:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\maps

You should be ready to play on our server now!!!!
